Project Overview

Cloud5 Communications engaged us to envision the future of hotel management technology, leveraging our deep expertise in hospitality innovation. The result was HDX—a visionary platform centered on advanced IT infrastructure monitoring, with real-time visibility into every system, network, and connected device across a property or portfolio. Built to anticipate issues before they arise, HDX streamlines maintenance decisions, reduces downtime, and integrates guest satisfaction insights to directly connect operational performance with the guest experience.
Phase 1: Vision Concepts

Early brainstorming workshops

With a blank canvas and a high-level vision from the client, I was tasked with imagining the future of hotel technology. This early concept culminated in a dynamic click-through prototype and a futuristic video showcase, designed for the global hospitality tech trade show. The response was overwhelming—sparking industry-wide interest and positioning Cloud5 as a forward-thinking leader.
Phase 2: MVP Prototype
The following year, we transformed that vision into a tangible product concept—HDX. This iteration featured three role-specific dashboards tailored for Corporate Executives, Multi-Property Engineers, and Hotel Managers/Engineers. HDX focused on complete IT infrastructure management, delivering predictive maintenance, self-healing networks, and real-time monitoring of hardware and smart devices across hotel properties. Advanced data visualizations tracked streaming speeds by location, mapped full network activity, and provided hardware lifecycle and investment insights. A working prototype on iPad Pros brought the experience to life at the trade show, once again capturing the attention of the industry and validating the product vision.

"This was a rare chance to design the future, not just improve the present—crafting intuitive interfaces for complex systems and turning data into clear, actionable insight that quietly powers great guest experiences."
